Farewell to Barry!

I decided to give  Barry a fitting send off so I paid a quick visit to Wahroonga. Conveniently it's the next constituency. It’ll almost certainly be the last appearance of that Barry anyway. It’s disappeared! I'd love to know who took it and where he is now so, if anyone knows, please drop me a line and maybe even a picture and I'll post it on this blog.

He will, however, be appearing one last time next week at the See Street Gallery, Meadowbank, for the graduation exhibition, complete with his bottle. I'm entitling it "Ask not for whom the Penfolds" or maybe "Home on the Grange"!

For the non Aussies looking at this, since I don't suppose it featured large in the foreign press, Google -  barry o'farrell grange hermitage  - to get the joke.

I'll miss Barry. He was such a good candidate for caricature. Unfortunately the new guy is not however the new deputy, Gladys Berejiklian (I have no idea how to pronounce the surname) has possibilities:)

On yer bike, Clover!

And here is my  take on Clover Moore, On yer bike, Clover! at the Incinerator Gallery in Willoughby.

The accompanying statement went as follows -
My current work represents,  a contemporary Australian take on the UK TV satire Spitting Images, blessed as we are with politicians, who excel,  not in their abilities at  running the country, but as subjects for caricature.
“On yer bike, Clover” represents my personal protest at the proliferation of bicycle lanes in the CBD, which rarely seem to see a cyclist, and serve only to further the traffic chaos that we have come to expect in downtown Sydney.
This is a new venue for the Sculpture Society You can find more information on their website.

Royal Easter Show

Here is my Fowl Play on exhibition at the Royal Easter show. I am pleased to report that he will be going to a new home after the show!

Exhibition over!

I am pleased to say that the exhibition was a great success, even financially (if you don't take into consideration the time making, setting up, minding, taking down etc :) and the house is just about back to normal or what passes for normal in these parts!

I will be posting a full set of photos on my website when I can get round to it. For the time being, here is one of my caricatures. Can you guess who it is? The flags are a clue:)
