Alex's further Adventures in Wonderland (aka Yorkshire)!

That Alex certainly seems to get around. You'd almost think that there is more than one of him:)
Here he is enjoying a trip on a steam train.

And he's recently been spotted as far north as Kirkcudbright!

Doing his imitation of Victor  Hugo on the Rock of Exiles. Maybe that's what will happen to his namesake post September 18th:)

Alex's Adventures in Wonderland!

One of my Alex Salmonds is currently taking a trip around his beloved homeland:)

And I've also made an" Alex Salmond Order of Merit" medal for enthusiastic supporters of independence to wear on September 18th to demonstrate their support!

I know of two at least, which are in the UK already, one of which will be worn enthusiastically while the other certainly won't:)  They have however been very well received in Australia by the Scottish ex patriot community!

Returned to Glory

Well, I'm happy to say that this has been a good week as well! My "The Thinker, Apologies to Rodin", who has appeared elsewhere in this blog, earned a Highly Commended at Hornsby's Returned to Glory, recycled art competition:)

Here he is again!

The winners have been posted on Hornsby council's website.

Hidden 2014 here I come!

Well, it's been a good week! Just found out that I got accepted for Hidden 2014.  Hidden is an annual sculpture exhibition held in the grounds of Rookwood cemetery.

The theme of my sculpture is Regeneration.

Rookwood represents a beautiful peaceful haven for all sorts of wildlife in the middle of urban Sydney. I chose the humble rabbit from its many occupants as rabbits are often seen as a symbol of fertility and fecundity.

My rabbits will be informally arranged to integrate with the Rookwood landscape and their many brethren.

Here they are at the moment in my backyard

I have committed to having a least a dozen rabbits though so they are going to have to breed in the next few months:)

Farewell to Barry!

I decided to give  Barry a fitting send off so I paid a quick visit to Wahroonga. Conveniently it's the next constituency. It’ll almost certainly be the last appearance of that Barry anyway. It’s disappeared! I'd love to know who took it and where he is now so, if anyone knows, please drop me a line and maybe even a picture and I'll post it on this blog.

He will, however, be appearing one last time next week at the See Street Gallery, Meadowbank, for the graduation exhibition, complete with his bottle. I'm entitling it "Ask not for whom the Penfolds" or maybe "Home on the Grange"!

For the non Aussies looking at this, since I don't suppose it featured large in the foreign press, Google -  barry o'farrell grange hermitage  - to get the joke.

I'll miss Barry. He was such a good candidate for caricature. Unfortunately the new guy is not however the new deputy, Gladys Berejiklian (I have no idea how to pronounce the surname) has possibilities:)
